No one else finds it odd that God is a he?

I was just thinking about the Christian faith( which is what I professed until about a month ago) and I'm at a crossroads right now and at this stage I consider myself more of a Deist. But while I was thinking about Christianity, the Bible and the authors, I found myself asking why is God considered a He. Not saying I think God is a female, but apart of me believes that it is written that way b/c men felt they were superior at that time and throughout history. So it was a way to keep women inferior. When really I feel women are almost more powerful than men to an extent b/c women have the ability to give life. I don't want this to turn into a battle of the es, I was just adding my thoughts to explain my questioning.
