How are phytoplankton and zooplankto important to terrestrial and aquatic food webs/?

phytoplankton are important because they harvest carbon dioxide and release oxygen in photosynthesis. Zooplanton is important because it is simply little organisms that is the lowest of the food chain in water. They feed upon phytoplankton and zoaplankton are eaten by things such as whales. they are just part of the food web. taking an organism out of any food web will disrupt other organisms.
